The Datastroyer 102-DG has been evaluated by NSA and is proven to meet the applicable NSA/CSS performance requirements for Degaussers. The Datastroyer 102-DG has a Magnetic Coercivity of 5000 Oersteds (Oe) making it capable of effectively wiping a hard drive platter clean of its information. The Datastroyer 102-DG is a small compact hand held wand that provides you the same capabilities of much larger and much more expensive pieces of equipment. The Datastroyer 102-DG can be used on Hard Drive Platters, Floppy Disks, Conventional 14” Disks, Magnetic Storage Drums and more.

The magnetic elements are extremely stable and will not weaken with age or use. It comes with a fitted steel case, covered in velvet, for safe transport and storage. This steel case acts as a magnetic shield to prevent unintended erasure of nearby media.

Whitaker Staff Review: To sanitize a hard drive you've got two options - spend thousands of dollars on fragile "high tech" degausser systems, or get the Datastroyer 102-DG for a few hundred dollars. This tiny device is actually NSA approved for top secret hard drive sanitization. The 102-DG never breaks, it can fit in a desk drawer, and is drastically more economical than any other solution.
When you get into higher volumes you will definitely want to look into the Datastroyer 105-Hard Drive, but until then the 102-DG is NSA approved for a fraction of the cost.

Looks like a gimmick, but actually works. Removing the platter is time consuming but we only generate two or three per month so it's not bad. I run this wand over the platter to meet NSA approval, then drive a couple nails through it just for our own satisfaction.
